Schools and Offices Closed

All 72 Ontario School Boards closed their schools on the advice of Dr. David Williams, Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health and the experts at the Provincial COVID-19 Command Table. The Premier indicated he will continue to follow the advice of medical experts and should school closures need to be extended he will advise Ontarians.

Learn at Home Portal - Ministry of Education Online Learning

The Province of Ontario launched a new online tool to help students continue learning while schools are closed. Families can access the new online resources by visiting the Ministry's website 'Learn at Home' page. The website contains reading material for elementary and secondary students. Qualified tutors will be made available through TVO, available to answer questions from students. High school content is designed with a focus on STEM courses to ensure core competencies and skills are reinforced.

Student Learning During School Closures

Visit our Distance Learning page to access resources as they are developed, and links to educational sites that have been designed to benefit student learning. Until our schools are reopened, this page will continue to be developed as a point of entry to resources for students and parents.

  • Get a yearly influenza vaccination, available from clinics and pharmacies (for flu only);
  • Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and water or use an alcohol-based sanitizer;
  • Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze;
  • Avoid touching your face, eyes or mouth;
  • If you don’t have a tissue, sneeze or cough into your sleeve or arm; and
  • If you or your family members are ill, stay home.
